§ 1 What insurance terms apply to visitors to Germany during their temporary stay under the cover provided by the Travel Health and Travel Liability Insurance
(Incoming)?
1. The terms and conditions of the Travel Liability Insurance apply to the travel liability insurance AVB RH 05.
2. The terms and conditions of the Foreign Travel Health Insurance (AVB RK 05) apply in conjunction with the additional provision § 2, AVB IC 05, below for the travel health insurance of visitors in Germany.
§ 2 What additional rules apply to the insurance cover provided by ELVIA Travel Health Insurance during a stay in Germany?
1. ELVIA shall provide insurance cover for a temporary stay in Germany insofar as the insurance contract is concluded within the first two working days after the insured person’s arrival in Germany at the latest and the premium is paid. Copies of the entry documents or flight tickets or other tickets shall be submitted as proof of the date of entry.
2. Insurance cover shall commence upon payment of the premium within the agreed period, but not before crossing the border into Germany, and shall end upon the insured person’s return to his or her home country.
3. Within Germany insured persons shall be reimbursed medical and dental treatment as an outpatient at the 1.8 fold rate of the Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ) or the Scale of Dental Fees (GOZ) at the maximum in accordance with § 2 AVB RK 05; medical services mainly of a technical nature shall be reimbursed at a 1.3 fold rate at the maximum, laboratory services at a 1.15 fold rate at the maximum. The costs of inpatient treatment according to § 2 No. 1 and 2 AVB RK 04 shall be reimbursed based on the standard rate applied by the Local Health Insurance Fund (AOK) responsible for the locality.
